Obama vs. Romney: Individual Income Tax Rates | Expert Financial ...

As they stand now, the current tax brackets are: 10 percent, 15 percent, 25 percent, 28 percent, 33 percent and 35 percent.? If nothing is done, rates in 2013 will go up.? Obama wishes to maintain current tax rates for individuals with income below $200,000 (heads of household below $225,000, and joint filers below $250,000).? He would increase the top rate to 36 percent ( 39.6 percent for taxpayers subject to the 10% surtax), which would apply to individuals whose income is above those levels.? Romney wishes to reduce the 2012 tax rates by 20 percent for each bracket.
