We drive an average of 13,000 miles per year, and accidents happen. Especially on a race track. Thankfully in many cases there is help. And there are cameras to witness the heroics.
We know that the most terrible automotive rescue video is David Purley's heroic but failed attempt to save Roger Williamson, while the funniest comes from 1995 when the medical Tatra hit Taki Inoue at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Here are the ten most amazing rescues according to Jalopnik readers:

1.) Jim Pantas saving another driver
It's like Senna rescue, but with much more heat. Also, it reminded me of how Shinichi Yamaji saved Tetsuya Ota at Suzuka in 1998.
